Upper West Townhouse
Chango & Co creates calm interiors across three floors of a New York townhouse

Chango & Co designed the interiors for a townhouse on Manhattan's Upper West Side, with styling by Katja Greeff. The three-story residence uses a narrow staircase along one wall, lit from above by a skylight at the top level.
The interiors prioritize quiet materials and neutral tones, contrasting with the building's red brick exterior. White walls and pale finishes create visual continuity between floors. The approach emphasizes calm over the density of the surrounding neighborhood.
In the master bedroom, a custom boucle headboard extends along the wall and wraps around to form a bench. The continuous upholstered surface uses the same textile throughout, creating a soft boundary within the room.
The townhouse demonstrates how restrained material choices can define residential interiors in dense urban settings. The design uses vertical light and minimal color to create openness within the narrow footprint.
